The challenge
The work and the books are in Kenya, while governance sits with the UK charity. Rebuilding the books to match the governance would have thrown away years of history and the Kenya localisation.

What similar organisations can take from it
- Separate where governance sits from where the books are kept: moving the tenant does not require rebuilding the ledger.
- Keep the companies, extensions and local tax configuration that already work, instead of re-implementing them.
- Treat the Azure region as its own decision, made later with the data-protection requirements in front of you.
