Agentic ERP: autonomous workflows inside Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain
How AI agents, connected through Copilot and the Model Context Protocol, change what a core business application does, and the controls a CIO should demand first.
الإجابة المختصرة
An agent earns its place when the task is repetitive, the data is already in the ledger, and a person can still approve the outcome. Start with one workflow, give the agent the narrowest permissions that work, and log every action it takes.
المراحل
From a manual task to a governed agent
-
1
Pick one workflow Choose a task that repeats daily, such as matching vendor invoices, chasing late receipts or classifying bank lines.
-
2
Expose only what it needs Give the agent read and write access to the specific tables and actions the task needs, through the platform's own security roles.
-
3
Keep a person in the approval path The agent proposes. A named role approves anything that posts, pays or changes a master record.
-
4
Log every step Record what the agent saw, what it proposed and who approved it, so an auditor can replay the decision.
-
5
Measure, then widen Review accuracy and exceptions for a full month before the agent takes on a second workflow.

ثلاثة أسئلة تغير الإجابة
Does the task post to the ledger or move money?
YesKeep human approval in the path and log the approval.
NoA supervised agent can act, with sampling and exception reports.
Is the source data clean and owned?
YesProceed with a pilot on that data.
NoFix the data first. An agent will repeat bad data faster than a clerk.
Can you explain the decision to an auditor?
YesGo live behind a feature flag.
NoDo not deploy. An unexplainable decision is a control failure.
الإنجازات
كيف يبدو الحدث وعندما يفعل ذلك
- Weeks 1 to 2 Workflow chosen, success measure written, security roles drafted.
- Weeks 3 to 6 Agent built in a sandbox environment with sample and masked data.
- Weeks 7 to 10 Supervised pilot with a named approver and a daily exception review.
- Week 12 Go or no-go review against the success measure and the audit trail.
المبادئ التي نتمسك بها
- Treat an agent as a user: it has a role, a scope and an owner.
- Narrow permissions beat clever prompts.
- Approvals stay with people for anything that posts, pays or changes masters.
- No audit trail, no go-live.
